Thank you to all the parents and guardians who took time out of your busy schedules to meet our staff and have conversations about your child’s progress at school.  We look forward to continuing communication in order to continue to improve the achievement and well-being of each and every student at Hespeler Public School.

The week begins with a Grade 8 Camp Meeting for students and parents in the lunchroom at 6:30 pm, followed by a School Council Meeting in the library at 7pm.  All are welcome.

This week is Bullying Awareness Week at HPS, and we have some special activities planned to create awareness about this important issue.  Our Child and Youth Worker,  Ms. McLean, in conjunction with Student Council, has been working on student-led presentations, as well as planning for WEAR PINK DAY on Friday November 25th.  Everyone is encouraged to “Be a buddy, not a bully” and to stand up to bullying by wearing pink on Friday, while keeping this concept in our thoughts all year.

On Wednesday, November 23, our Grade 8 students will be visiting Jacob Hespeler Secondary School, to learn about everything that grade nine has to offer.

Also on Friday, is our school-wide bus evacuation drill, where all students learn about bus safety, and how to evacuate from a school bus safely, should the occasion arise.

Finally, to wrap up this busy week, our School Council is hosting a Vendor and Craft Sale on Sunday, November 27 from 10am-3pm.  This is a great opportunity to start (or finish) your holiday shopping while supporting School Council and their fundraising initiatives.

Hope to see you at HPS soon!
